To hard-wire no driver neon(120V Driveless LED neon rope light )(designed for direct 120V AC connection), follow these steps. (common in plug-and-play AC-rated LED neon lights).

1. Why COB Led Neon Rope Light No driver or transformer?
COB Rope Light uses the latest driver-on-board technology. Economically, there is no need for drivers, reducing costs. Aesthetically, its sleek designs seamlessly integrate into diverse environments. You can add accent lighting virtually anywhere at a low cost and without professional assistance! And you can directly do hard-wire operations.
2. Tools & Materials
- Insulated screwdrivers/wire strippers
- Wire nuts or lever nuts
- UL-listed junction box
- Voltage tester
- Cable clamps
- Mounting hardware (clips/adhesive)
3. Step-by-Step Guide
*Turn Off Power
Shut off the circuit breaker for the installation area.
Use a voltage tester to confirm the wires are dead.
*Prepare the Junction Box
Mount a UL-listed junction box where you’ll make connections.
Feed the household 120V AC wiring (black/live, white/neutral, green/bare ground) into the box.
*Prepare the LED Rope Light.
The rope light has a plug. Cut plug off to expose the three wires:
Black (Live)
White (Neutral)
Green/Bare (Ground)
Note: Cutting the plug voids the warranty. Please consider carefully if you decide to hard-wire LED neon rope light.
*Connect Wires
match colors inside the junction box:
Black (Live) → Household black (use a wire nut).
White (Neutral) → Household white.
Green/Bare (Ground) → Household green/bare.
*Secure Connections
Ensure that there is no exposed copper.
Tuck the wires into the junction box and secure them with cable clamps.
Close the junction box cover.
*Mount the Rope Light
Attach the LED neon rope to your desired surface using clips, adhesives, or channels.
Avoid sharp bends (follow the manufacturer’s bending radius guidelines).
*Test the Installation
Restore power and test the light.
If it doesn’t work, recheck connections or consult an electrician.
4. Critical Safety Notes
- Never connect DC-rated LEDs directly to 120V AC—this will destroy the LEDs and create a fire hazard.
- Use a junction box rated for your environment (e.g., an outdoor box for exterior installations).
- Ensure the circuit can handle the load (LED neon lights typically draw low wattage, but confirm with the specs).
- If the rope light lacks a ground wire, do not proceed—it may not be safe for hardwiring.
Note: Consult a licensed electrician if you need professional help.
It is not recommended to cut the AC 120V light strip and solder the hard wiring. It is very dangerous after the high-voltage light strip damages the shell. Therefore, it is recommended that customers do hard wiring directly on the power cord line.
After cutting the LED strip without the power cord. It is recommended to purchase the extra power cord accessories package and then hardwire on the power cord part. Original AC 120v light strip with power cord line directly do hard-wire.
By following these steps, you can safely hard wire no driver neon rope light. Always prioritize manufacturer guidelines and local electrical codes.
