Important warning:

Our 110V-120V IP65 LED strip neon light is not for the pool or similar background, it is dangerous to cause electric shock. IP 65 LED neon strip light is only for outdoor lighting. IP67 waterproof rate can be used poolside, and the IP68 waterproof rate neon strip is used underwater.

 

1. Do your led neon rope lights do a 90-degree install or bend?

60° soft angle installation. When for 90 angles, leave a 60° soft angle in the corner and use mounting clips in turning places as the below picture shows. Mounting clips are included in each neon rope light pack.

Note: Our neon rope light and led strip light do not bend at 90°. Please do not fold and overbend the light.

• Generally, we have the connector pack including the connection wire as below shows. We are wondering if the connection wire is helpful for the corner installation.
• Led neon light needs a connector pack please search connector pack can find this product. Led neon light we don't have L type connector pack, only have straight connector pack.
• Led strip light needs a connector pack choose eco strip have 90-degree connector packs.

 

 

2. Can I bend the led rope light and 120v led tape lights?

Yes, rope lights are more flexible than LED tape lights and can be bent in all directions. However, you cannot crimp the rope lights or make a sharp 90-degree bend. The LED strip lights are flexible enough to be wrapped around a pole or railing but can not bend laterally.

For turning sharp angles with the LED neon rope light you can do a 60-degree bend and for LED tape lights you will be required to use an L connector or female-to-female extension at the cut mark.

 

Important notice:

• The neon light strip minimum bending radius is 4cm/1.57 inches.
• To avoid damaging led neon rope lights ensure that a bening or curves have a diameter of greater than 4cm.
• Do not bend the LED neon rope light at sharp angles, this will damage the internal circuitry and void the warranty. Note: Our neon rope light and led strip light do not bend at 90°. Please do not fold and overbend the light.
  Repeated and continuous bending of led neon rope lights may damage the internal circuitry and void the warranty.

 

3. Can LED neon rope lights be cut?

The cutting unit for both the 120V LED strip light and the led neon rope lighting is 0.5m (3.28ft). The cutting point (black dot or blank area) is the only area for cutting otherwise it will damage the circuit.  12V/24V smart neon rope lighting cutting unit is more flexible for pattern design.

 

 

4. Can I hardwire /Wall Switch 120V LED strip lights and 120V LED neon lights?

 Yes, LED rope and strip lights can be hardwired. Please simply cut off the plug (Plug is the red circle one) to do the hardwired. It would be great if this can be finished by a professional electrician. 

Please always keep the rectifier after the cutting. The rectifier is the big white piece between the plug and the neon light. The connection method as the below picture shows. (Shine Decor COB Strip neon rope light no rectifier also can do hardwire only need to cut the plug)

 

 

5. What is the largest connect length of one 120v LED tape lights or 120v LED rope lights

You can have max 150ft on 1 line. If you need 200ft, you will need to use another outlet, don't hook up to the end of the 150ft section you already made. 

 

6. High voltage LED strip lights can smart controlled by phone？

Yes, but a separate controller is required. Cut the strip to the desired length and install the smart controller. But Shine Decor led strip lights and led neon lights don't offer a smart control function, if you want to smart control your phone, we suggest you buy our silicone neon lights. Those with smart functions and easy to operate.

And need for a professional electrician to install will be more guaranteed after installation, and the need to use a high quantity and famous brand smart controller. Notice that the power rate must arrive at 500W and output voltage AC110V if you want to buy a smart controller.

We also don't have brand recommendations. Anyway, we don't recommend you use the smart controller. Because it's a complicated project and may ruin the LED neon lights broken if it does not handle it very great or choose brand controller has a problem. 

 

7. Outdoor LED Rope Lights Wall Dimmer Recommendation?

Yes, all of our 120v neon rope lighting can be dimmed by a dimmer remote and wall dimmer. Remote Dimmer used for any model led neon strip check on here: https://www.shine-decor.com/products/dimmer-pack

If you want to hardwire use a Wall dimmer we suggest you buy a Lutron wall dimmer. choose a wall dimmer with no less than the total length power you need, and the voltage starts from 0V. Please pay attention to the power of the neon rope and the load of your dimmer. How to calculate the power: 6.3W rated power per meter * meter gonna be used. For example: if you purchased our 15M/50FT neon rope light, then the wall dimmer's total power will be:6.3W/M*15M=94.5W.

For a specific model please check with Lutron customer services. You can choose for example Lutron DVWCL-153PH-WH, Lutron CTCL-153PR-WH, or another dimmer model from the market, and make sure to hardwire the lights and the dimmer only by a qualified electrician.

 

8. How many mounting clips will I need?

Each lighting project is different so the amount of clips required can vary. Generally,  we recommend that they be used every 6 inches to 1 foot apart. You may require more for mounting around bends or to keep the rope light from sagging between clips.

9. Is it ok to leave the lights out for the winter? What are the temperature exposure recommendations?

Our all-led neon strip light working temperature is -4F' TO 120F'. See if this meets your local condition. 

 

10. If you are not sure which accessories to buy?

11. Outdoor Led Rope Lights after cut how to use again?

Note: If you cut a small length and you don't want this length anymore, you can use an end cap to seal the end position. Please search "end cap" on our website, can find an extra end cap pack to buy.

If you cut the original neon strip light into two or more lengths to use, you will need an extra power cord pack/controller pack to make the cut neon light work again! Search power cord pack or controller pack to buy.

 

12. Don't want to use mounting clips or channel tracks? Can I use glue?

 You can use 3M double-sided tape or adhesive glue to stick.

  

13. Should I choose neon rope lighting or high voltage LED strip lights?

High voltage LED Strip light and neon rope lighting are essentially the same, they have different light diffusion effects due to their different outer jacket material. You can see individual light bulbs on the LED Strip light when it’s illuminated, whereas you won’t see it on LED neon rope light 

If you want to see bulbs within LED light, you can choose the 120V LED strip light collection on our website.

If you don't want to see bulbs within the led light and dark dots get continuous lighting, please choose the LED neon rope light collection on our website.

For decoration purposes, LED neon rope light would be the best choice for creating a lighting atmosphere, while LED strip light tends to be placed hidden from direct view.

In summary, LED neon rope lights are best for decorative lighting purposes or anywhere continuous, 360-degree lighting is desired. LED strip lights with their focused, directional light output are better suited for task lighting or accent lighting in tight spaces requiring more complex shapes and patterns.
